Elina- Hybrid Tea

When I first saw        What a beautiful rose!  Elina is a wonderful rose for New England since it is hardy (sometime lots of dieback, but it is a survivor), it reasonably prolific and the form and color of the bloom (light yellow to cream) makes it a delight in the garden.  Indeed, the exhibition quality form is so good that it is a consistent winner in Connecticut's Rose Shows. The rose hails back to 1983, and for that color has really not been exceeded since.  It is a vigorous bush with dark, glossy green foliage.  The blooms are often greater than 6 inches in diameter, and has 35 petals.  There is a very slight fragrance, and the bloom is so fetching as to lure your nose for a sniff-test just to see if the fragrance increased. One reason why the rose does well at shows, and as a cut bloom for the home, is that the bloom lasts very well. As a modern, successful, hybrid tea, the plant is repeat flowering.  You will enjoy growing this rose!
