Basye's Purple

Basye's Purple
Shrub (or rugosa)

Variously classed as a shrub and a rugosa, Basye's Purple retains all the rugosa features of strength and endurance.
Mine greets me from it's nest in the driveway sand, no pampering required, no winterizing.
It requires little in the way of fertilizer, and has shown no signs of disease since it arrived from Sequoia.
It is destined to reach 5X5 feet, it blossoms frequently. The texture , shade and stamen /pistil bossing of each bloom is gemlike.
