Dave Berg Considering the candidates for the Norwich Sweetheart Rose.

The Norwich Sweetheart Rose was hybridized by Dave and this rose was selected by a Committee from Norwich, CT (the City dubbed The Rose of New England in the mid 1800's) to be The Rose to represent the City during the national Year of the Rose 2002 celebration.  John Saville of Nor' East Miniature Roses ( then locate in Mass.) agreed to propagate the rose and make sufficient quantities to provide to those interested in Norwich, CT the following year.  The rose had such excellent qualities that it was further featured by Nor' East as one of the few New Introductions and has been a very popular rose ever since.

The rose has extraordinary magenta flowers with classic form.  Not only lovely- but fragrance as well!  A special feature for a miniature rose.

The plant has an upright habit and is vigorous, with disease-resistant medium green foliage.  Blooms are large and long-lasting and tend toward the exhibitor's desire for one bloom per stem.  Great for the garden, exhibition, cutting or just sniffing.

I highly recommend this rose.
