Rose of the Month-  December 2006

Scentimental

Photo- Dave Candler

ARS rated 7.7.  Floribunda- 25-30 petals.  Very fragrant of rose and spice.  Good disease resistance.  Very hardy in Connecticut.  The first striped rose to win an All-American Rose Award.  Dark red swirled with white, and the pattern is different on the bottom of the petal!    Vigorous 4 x 4 ft.  Not an exhibition type of form, and often looks best as an open bloom.  It is a show stopper in the garden, but tends to bloom significantly (in CT) at the very end of June, so we don't see that often at the Connecticut Rose Shows.  but it continues to rebloom for the summer, so you will certainly enjoy it in the garden!
