New Dawn
Photo- Heirloom Roses
The yardstick against which all repeat flowering climbers are judged. In 1997 'New Dawn' was voted the most popular rose in the world at the 11th World Convention of Rose Societies. Silvery, blush-pink, medium sized, double flowers with nice form produced in profusion on a great plant. May be grown as a shrub. Winter hardy to zone 4. Outstanding. Repeat Bloom, Zones 4-9, Petals 15+,Bloom 3".
The above description is from Heirloom Roses. My description is the same. BEWARE! it grows SO well it may eat your house. I lost the front porch and much of my den before I knew what was happening. In the spring I actually cut back six 10 foot long canes (leaving 8 feet) that had sprawled into the yard past its intended trellis. And I did it again in late summer. It does wonders along a fenceline. The fence should not be so close to the road so as to be doused with salt in the winter snows, however.
Highly recommended for the garden. Not an exhibition variety.
