The Southampton Rose Society is planning something very special Saturday, June
18, 2005, and we're calling it ROSE DAY 2005. The day will start off with a
rose parade through the village of Southampton at 10:30AM followed by
entertainment and refreshments in tandem with the Annual Rose Show back at the
SRS Rose Garden located at the Rogers Memorial Library.
We would like to invite the membership of the Long Island Rose Society and
the Connecticut Rose Society to come to Southampton and exhibit their roses in
our rose show.
All classes will be open to your members to enter their roses and vie for blue
ribbons. The policy we have is that we don't allow silver trophies to be
taken outside our societies' membership, however, blue ribbons and publicity
will be given to the winners. The Queen of Show winner will be invited to
appear on PLUM TV the day following the event. We want to make the rose show
spectacular, and the more exhibitors, the better.
This year there will be lots of publicity and attendance by the general
public, and we would be thrilled to meet you all. We hope to make the day one
everyone will remember and the start of a rose parade tradition.
